Tropical Wings Award
Bird City Gardens received a $500 boost from Tropical Wings. This grant will enhance the Mulberry Ravine Bird Station habitat for resident and migratory birds on Stillwater's North Hill.
Tropical Wings' contribution, presented at their annual event in Hudson, Wisconsin, on May 23, 2025, reflects their confidence in Bird City Gardens' mission. Wendy Gorski, Bird City managing director, expressed gratitude, noting the funds will complete the bird station on Stillwater's North Hill.
Tropical Wings fosters awareness of neotropical migratory birds and habitat conservation, connecting communities in the Upper Midwest with those on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula.
Their annual event in the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway communities raises funds and awareness, emphasizing the importance of local initiatives in global conservation efforts.
The $500 grant will support Bird City Gardens' mission to promote native plant gardening for birds and other beneficial insects. This year, Bird City Gardens is building the Mulberry Ravine Bird Station to demonstrate enriched bird habitats. The site will also serve as an educational hub for visitors and students to learn about local bird species and migratory patterns.
Tropical Wings also honored West Salem Lutheran Church, Lee Kisling, Belwin Conservancy, Kinni River Land Trust, Marine School, SCV Hábitat for Humanity, ArtReach St Croix, and Osprey Wilds for their contributions to conservation and community engagement.
